2024 Jeep Wrangler Review For The American Buyer
The Jeep Wrangler has been in production for over three decades and is the second most sold vehicle under the Jeep nameplate in America after the Grand Cherokee. The Wrangler appeals to many buyers due to its performance, reliability, off-road capability, and comfort. Available either as a two-door model or a four-door model, the Wrangler has something for everyone. The 2024 model features an updated grille, 10 new wheel designs, a warn winch and a full float rear axle.
Engine Options
The 2024 Jeep Wrangler comes with three engine options.

The 4xe model which is a plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHEV) uses a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine and two electric motors one integrated with the transmission and another powering the rear axle. Its battery pack has a range of up to 22 miles.

2024 Jeep Wrangler Interior
The 2024 Wrangler’s interior received minimal updates and still maintains its traditional ruggedness and minimalism. The front seats offer good legroom and headroom. The second row seats in the four-door version also offer similarly impressive legroom. Large adults will find them comfortable. The two door version is a bit cramped at the second row and is ideal for children and shorter adults.
Lower trims have lots of plastic but higher trims are more luxurious with features such as Nappa leather upholstery and heated front seats.
The 2024 Wrangler comes with a new 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen across all trims. It runs on the latest Uconnect 5 software, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a customizable home screen. The Uconnect 5 was first introduced in the Grand Wagoneer, then the Grand Cherokee, and its now available in the 2024 Wrangler.

The 2024 Wrangler maintains its original boxy design but has been refreshed with subtle changes. The grille has been updated and the front bumper is now fitted with an 8000-pound winch.
Other changes include; 10 new wheel designs, frame sliders and an integrated wire antenna in the windshield.
Color options include: Bright White, Granite Crystal metallic, Anvil, Silver Zynith, Earl, Hydro Blue Pearl, Firecracker Red, High Velocity, and Sarge Green.
2024 Jeep Wrangler Cargo Capacity
The two-door model offers 12.9 cubic feet of cargo space with the second row seats up and up to 31.7 cubic feet with the second row seats down. The four-door model offers 31.7 cubic feet of cargo with the second row seats up and 72.4 cubic feet with the seats down.
2024 Jeep Wrangler Fuel Consumption
The two-door 2.0L turbocharged trims consume 20/21/21 mpg for the city/highway/combined according to EPA estimates while the four-door consumes 20 mpg for all three cycles.
Two doors with a 3.6L V6 engine consume 17/25/20 mpg whereas the four-door trims consume, 17/23/19 mpg.
The 4xe has a range of up to 22 miles when running on electric power. When running on gas, it returns a combined 20 mpg. When running on both, it returns a combined 49 mpg.

The two-door Wrangler has a fuel tank capacity of 17.5 gallons, while the four-door Wrangler has a capacity of 21.5 gallons.

The 2024 Wrangler has a ground clearance of 12.9 inches.
2024 Jeep Wrangler Performance
The 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine is linked to either a manual or automatic transmission and generates 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque.
The 2.0-liter turbocharged engine generates 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, it can tow up to 5,000 pounds.
The 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine generates 470 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque.
The Wrangler offers a good ride quality both on-road and off-road. Some users find the steering to be too light and the brakes lacking in sharpness but this is all subjective.

The 2024 Jeep Wrangler has a reliability rating of 86 out of 100 per JD Power. Consumer reports predict the 2024 Wrangler will be less reliable than the 2023 and 2022 models.

Maintenance Schedule
The first service is at 7,500 miles and requires among other things an oil change, fluid change, filter change as well as tire rotation. The second service is at 20,000 miles and it’s a major maintenance service that will require among other things to replace the AC filter, check transfer case fluid, and inspect CV and Universal joints.
