2024 Nissan Sentra Performance

Under the bonnet, every 2024 Sentra is powered by a 2.0-litre inline four-cylinder engine with 149 horsepower and 146 lb-ft of torque. This engine is mated to a new Xtronic CVT, which Nissan says is designed to reduce fuel consumption while providing a smoother shift pattern. Front-wheel drive is standard on the 2024 Sentra and four-wheel drive is not available.

The 2.0-litre engine works well in the 2024 Sentra and feels lively and the power is sufficient for everyday driving. Acceleration on the motorway is leisurely as it’s not a drag racing powerhouse, from 0-60 mph the 2024 Sentra accelerates in about 8.4 seconds.

However, the CVT mimics the shift pattern of a conventional gearbox and the brakes are nice and predictable with enough stopping power even in emergency braking.

When it comes to handling, the 2024 Sentra feels nice and planted to the road with the suspension absorbing bumps well. The steering is well-weighted and gives the driver confidence when cornering.
